Sat. 14th    3pm  DrumFace at North Center Arts Festival 
Sun. 15th & 22nd, Thurs. 26th    3-Session Drum Making  15/22nd: 2-3:30pm, 26th: 7pm  ($20 +kit cost, from $25)  A beginner’s drum making workshop, in 3 parts.  Using a pre-made form, you’ll get 2 sessions working in the DrumFace studio, decorating and skinning a drum.  Drums will be ready to play & take home on Thursday 26th (Aissawa Kbir Veggie Potluck & open studio night).   Appropriate for ages 8+.
Weds. 18th    Chicago Cavers  7-10pm  FREE*  An unofficial, city-based convergence of cave explorers and people interested in caves.  Hosted by Heather & Quentin of DrumFace and the Windy City & Sub-Urban Grottos of the National Speleological Society.  Open to non-cavers.  Bring a beverage and snack, if you like.    * donation welcome but not  required
Thurs. 26th     Aissawa Kbir Last Thursday Veggie Potluck  7-9:30pm  FREE*  Each month at DrumFace ends with a music-filled open house and veggie potluck.  For April, we welcome a fabulous assortment of local dancers and doumbek drummers, who enjoyed a session together back in March.  This will be a colorful, “Arabian Nights” themed event, so break out your favorite Middle Eastern flavors for the vegetarian potluck table!   * donation welcome but not  required
Sat. 29th   Chicago Contemporary Music Project Presents: World of Rhythm and Dance Series  19th Century Club, 178 Forest Ave., Oak Park  2-5pm  $15  Quentin presents rhythms of North Africa!

Tuesdays, May 1, 8, 15   Clay Play, Part 1  6:30-8:30pm  ($20 per session, minimum 1 each of parts 1 & 2)  A short series of open clayworking studio sessions at DrumFace.  Some experience recommended but not required; basic tools and materials supplied.  Possible extension on select Saturdays, depending on demand.  Contact Heather (info@DrumFaceChicago.com)
Weds. 2nd    Doumbek Hour  7-8pm  FREE*  Quick, monthly sessions for your doumbek enjoyment.  Focused on the Middle-Eastern goblet drum called Doumbek, also known as Darbooka or Egyptian Tabla.   All levels.   * donation welcome but not  required

*NEW DATE*  Weds. May 9th  Special Doumbek Hour: Drum & Dance Jam  7:30-9:30pm  FREE*  An extended practice session promoting collaboration between dancers and drummers.   Have fun exploring new moves and working with live musicians!  * donation welcome but not  required

Thurs. 17th  Aissawa Kbir Veggie Potluck, 7-9:30pm FREE*  Hosted by DrumFace and Chicago Aissawa, a little bit of Morocco in Chicago, and you’re invited.  Family friendly and loud.  * donation welcome but not  required

Sun. 24th  Moroccan Drum & Dance  5pm  $5  This workshop session is dedicated to rhythms and unique instruments of Moroccan folkloric music, including key movements of traditional dances.  Instruments are provided.  This is an active session- be prepared to boogie!
Thurs. 28th Aissawa Kbir Veggie Potluck  7-9:30pm FREE*  Hosted by DrumFace and Chicago Aissawa.  Check out our drop-in drummaking activity and make your very own.  * donation welcome but not  required
